the colorful philosophy of death
what is the color of death? in most western cultures the color of mourning is black - as in the phrase 'to be in black'. in viet nam for example (don't quote me on that - 54n told me) when they are in black, people actually wear white.
in terms of color space: black is the absence of all colors, while white is the presence of all color - additive color that is and vice versa for subtractive color. so both are actually non-colors.
disco soda raised a valid objection to this point: there is only one death for all living creatures, at least there should be, equallity for all! so, what does an amoeba or bacteria living on a subaqueous vulcan believe that the color of death is? we'll never know... and for that reason we chose 'colorful' to be the new and universally applied color of death.
be that as it may, wether the color of death is black or white or colorful, it's still a non-color. death is not a color. he can't be anything that has a color, a pony for example. death is not a pony. a dead one maybe and that's about it. poor fella.
